Active Dads

About Us

Active Dad's is a Mansfield Shire based activity group designed for dads with preschool aged or older kids. The group has been independently established by community members with support from our local community house, MACE.

Our aim is to get dads and kids outdoors and doing activities together, such as camping, skiing, fishing and mountain biking. This will help foster strong family bonds and create lasting memories, whilst also building a supportive community network among fathers. This will particularly benefit single/separated fathers.

What We Do

Active Dads has a goal to ensure Dads and their kids are physically healthy, mentally resilient, have strong bonds with each other, and stay connected to the community. We do this through:

● Getting Dads and their kids active and into the outdoors

● Creating spaces where dads can engage with their kids in a dad centric way

● Promoting dads to connect with other dads

● Removing social and economic barriers leading to social isolation for dads and their kids

● Bringing dads and their kids together to help their community

● Advocate the importance of the role of a father figure to a child’s development

We are open to Dads of all types including:

● Dads with little kids

● Dads with teens

● Dads with adult kids who may no longer live at home

● Single Dads

● Separated Dads

● Step Dads

● Expecting Dads

● Dads who have been estranged from their kids

● Dads of Dads
